Chery Becomes Best-Selling Chinese SUV Brand Globally in 2025

In 2025, Chery Group recorded SUV sales of 2,315,275 units, securing its position as the world’s leading Chinese SUV brand by volume.

The Chery Tiggo 7 lineup continued to perform strongly overseas, ranking as the top-exported Chinese A-segment petrol SUV for the fourth year in a row. Since entering the market, the Tiggo 7 has surpassed one million units in cumulative sales across more than 100 international markets.

Meanwhile, the Chery Tiggo 8 series once again emerged as the best-selling mid-size SUV among Chinese brands in 2025. It also retained its leadership as China’s highest-selling gasoline-powered mid-size SUV for ten consecutive months during the year.

Overall, Chery Group achieved total vehicle sales of 2,806,393 units in 2025, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 7.8%. Exports reached 1,344,020 units, growing 17.4% compared to the previous year, while new energy vehicle sales climbed sharply to 903,847 units, up 54.9% year-on-year. Exports accounted for nearly half (47.9%) of the Group’s total annual sales.

Cumulatively, Chery has exported 5.85 million vehicles, becoming the first Chinese automaker to exceed the five-million export milestone. Currently, one out of every five Chinese vehicles shipped overseas carries the Chery badge. The year 2025 also marked Chery’s 23rd straight year as China’s leading passenger vehicle exporter.

Based on global automaker sales rankings for 2025, Chery Group placed 11th worldwide. For 2026, the company has set a sales goal of 3.2 million vehicles.

In line with its intelligent mobility strategy, Chery plans to roll out its Lingxi Intelligent Cockpit across all key models by the first quarter of 2026, while its Falcon advanced driver-assistance system is scheduled to be introduced in more than 35 models by the end of the year.
